Saturday the Falcon swimming boys and girls competed in the district 12 5A championships. The teams had a fantastic meet advancing 13 to the region 3 meet in Frisco. “Both of these teams have strong swimmers” said coach Davis.
The Falcon boys team placed 3rd in district with the leadership of captain Damon Harper. Harper earned 3rd in the 500 yard freestyle advancing him to the region 3 competition. Harper also advanced in the 200 yard freestyle. Rusty and Robby Clark both advanced in the 200 yard individual medley. Rusty additionally will be swimming the 100 yard backstroke and Robby the 100 yard butterfly. Freshman Chad Phillips advanced to regionals in the 100 yard freestyle. The 200 yard Medley relay was 2nd place with Austin Clevenger, Sebastian Miestre, Henry Huynh and Rusty Clark and the 400 yard freestyle relay placed 3rd with both Clark brothers, Phillips and Harper. Additionally the 200 freestyle relay will be joining them at the regional competition.
The girls team advanced 6 to the region 3 meet. Individually Amy Hawkins in the 100 yard freestyle, Hope Carter in the 500 yard freestyle and Cadyn LaBounty in the 500 yard freestyle. All three of the Falcon girls relays will be going to the region meet in Frisco. The 200 yard medley relay, LaBounty and Carter along with Alyssa Miller and Kylie Klingelberger, the 200 yard freestyle relay of Carter, Miller, LaBounty and Hawkins and the 400 yard freestyle relay with Carter, LaBounty, Hawkins and Jalyn Powers round out the rest of the Falcon girls swim team advancing to the region 3 meet.
