Girls Varsity Basketball · Girls Basketball Keeps Rolling to 5-0 in District

The North Forney girls basketball team has come out of Holiday Break hot with 2 more wins over district opponents. That puts the Lady Falcons at 5-0 and competing for 1st place in district with Highland Park and only 2 games left in the first round of district play.

Starting early in the New Year, the Lady Falcons put up a win against Mesquite Poteet on January 2nd with a final score of 53-27. Junior Raven Busby led all scorers with 19 points followed by senior Jayla Moore with 12. The Lady Falcons two lone seniors, Alexis Adams and Moore, led the team in rebounds with 8 and 5 respectively.

In their first home game of 2021 against cross-town rival Forney High, North Forney came out strong and kept the tempo high. The Lady Falcons outscored the Jackrabbits 34-6 in the first half of play ending the game with a final score of 58-18 with Junior Raven Busby leading all scorers with a CAREER high 27 points.

The Lady Falcons look to take care of business in the final two games of the first round of district, playing at West Mesquite Friday, January 8th and then competing at home January 12th against fellow undefeated in district team Highland Park Scots.
